Celebrating Hispanics in Construction
D.C. United ‘Audi Field’
July 21, 2021

Metro DC Hispanic Contractors Association (Metro/DC HCA), in partnership with Gilbane & Turner construction companies, Balt./DC Building Trades Unions and the D.C. United soccer team shall celebrate the 5th annual*, GALA Fundraiser, ‘Audi Field’, D.C. United soccer stadium, Wednesday evening, July 21, 2021, 6-9:30 pm.

This live event honors the work of thousands of small, minority, immigrant and Latino owned businesses in the construction industry of the region who’ve kept their enterprises functioning throughout the pandemic. These firms have provided talented, top quality services to the industry, overcoming barriers and obstacles while working throughout 2020. They’re the infrastructure builders, pioneers who’ve kept our community alive & thriving.

Our GALA Celebration is a dinner & entertaining presentation outdoors, under cover, at D.C. United’s Audi Field, where we can space adequately and safely. A place where we showcase our network using the audio visual technology at the stadium’s disposal.

The evening program includes:

  • The Honorable Mayor Muriel Bowser, our appreciation for her leadership during this crisis.
  • Paul Choquette & Darien Grant, regional leaders of two world class builders -Gilbane & Turner construction companies hosting our ‘Live Auction’ to Benefit the ACE Mentor Program of DC.
  • Stephen Courtien & the Balt./DC Building Trades Unions honoring Keystone Plus CEO, Carlos Perdomo
  • Recognition of Jackie Reyes, Mayor’s Dir. Office on Latino Affairs, for tireless work in support of the Latino community throughout the pandemic.
  • Recognition of ‘Close the Gap’, in conjunction w/sponsor Giant Foods, a food program that provided 40 non-citizen families with basic food assistance throughout the entire pandemic period of 2020, supported by Metro/DC HCA.
  • Celebration of the legacy & leadership of Stan Jackson, architect of economic & educational policy and key advocate for opportunity and equity in D.C. over 40 years. Presently, CEO of Anacostia Economic Development Corporation.
  • MCN Build will showcase their library project in El Salvador.

In these trying times our objective is to provide for a reunion, a renewal of our network, of all those in the industry who’ve kept our businesses going and the economy alive.
