Emboldened by his belief in the American Dream, Mr. Victor Cierra’s career in commercial construction began in 1991. His reputation for delivering strong results finally caught the eye of big league, national contractor, HITT and earned him the opportunity to work with them. Focused on his dream to establish his own company, he embraced the opportunity that enabled him to launch VMC Contracting Inc. in October 2001. Proud to announce the leadership succession at one of the region's premier business guilds; Metro DC Hispanic Contractors Assoc. (MDCHCA).
Based in Washington DC, and currently boasting a membership network of 216 minority, Hispanic and immigrant owned construction and construction related enterprises, MDCHCA has been led these past 5 years by Chairman of the Board, Carlos Perdomo, owner and CEO of Keystone Plus Construction. Mr. Perdomo, whose father Eduardo began the organization in the early 1980s, took control of the organization when there were less than 10 members and the Association had very little influence with either local governments or private industry. Today, Hispanic owned construction and commercial contracting firms are among the most dynamic, fastest growing and most influential sectors of the construction industry. A feat that has been aided by our Association under the leadership of Mr. Perdomo.

He arrived in the United States on March 3rd, 2001 with a backpack full of dreams much like other Salvadoran immigrants. Until one day, four years later, in the corner of a Centreville apartment, JPN Masonry was born and the construction world opened a new array of possibilities for Otto Madrid, now President & CEO of JPN.
Fifteen years later, what began with a single desk and computer in a shared apartment, now employs over 80 workers and has left its stamp on iconic buildings across Washington DC. JPN has contributed to school and hospital renovations, water treatment facilities construction and the building of the District's last two sports venues; the Entertainment & Sports Arena and DC United Stadium. His company now invoices over 10 million dollars a year and is renowned for its craftsmanship and outstanding service

Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) in Full Swing
Once again our Corporate Advisory Council has been activated. 8 of the top 20 builders in the region, 2 utilities (PEPCO, DC Water), the Airports Authority, Building Trades Unions, 3 of the largest Hispanic owned construction firms in the District, a major accounting firm, a giant civil engineering co., etc. are among our Advisory Council members.
We held a virtual meeting of the CAC, Wednesday, February 24th preparing for our live, annual 'Tapas & Wine' reception which this year will be celebrated outdoors the evening of Wednesday, April 14 -public health situation permitting (weather predicted, 74 & sunny).
On the call we also began to plan for our July 2021 fundraiser. The fundraiser is going to be exotic and exciting, but let's not say more about it until things clear up. All of our live sessions are subject to the public health crisis being under control.
Above a photo from last year's celebration. You can read about all of our activities from 2020 here.
